About The Bubble

We cover Spain for the people who live it in English.

The Bubble is an independent, newsletter-first media company based in Madrid. Spain is one of Europe's top-performing economies and a rising soft power — and we're here to explain it. Spain is complicated. We make it make sense.

Why we exist

We bring readers original reporting, sharp analysis, a podcast and three newsletters a week — all written by journalists who live here and know the story.

Our readers are immigrants, diplomats, startup founders and members of the international community who don't want to live on the surface of Spain — they want to understand it, learn about it, argue about it and feel at home in it.

What we cover

We cover the full spectrum of Spanish life — politics, economy, finance, social issues and culture, but also the contradictions, the quirks and the memes. We currently publish three newsletters a week:

  • Props — our real-estate newsletter, Tuesdays at 8 a.m.
  • General News — Thursdays at 8 a.m.
  • What to do in Madrid — Fridays at 8 a.m.

We don't publish op-eds, hot takes or guest posts. We don't sell sponsored content disguised as journalism. We do take advertising, clearly marked as such, from brands we'd recommend to our friends.
